Side by side against BMWs, Jags, Lexus', Lincolns, etc. IMO, the Cadillacs were the middle of the line. They were indeed the best American luxo car available but I liked what MB and Lexus had to offer more than Cadillac. Surprisingly, I did like the Caddy better than the BMW offering but as far as top of the line luxury sedan the LS430 was my favorite hands down. It had best accelleration, braking and handling in the big car class. Oh, and as much as I hate SUV's I have to admit that the Escalade was pretty nice. It handled quite well and didn't feel as ill handling and floaty as the Lincoln Navigator that it was put up against.
